Senator Kim Jackson has been sworn in as the Senate Democratic Caucus Whip for the 2025-2026 Biennium, marking a historic moment as she becomes the first female Whip in the Georgia State Senate.
In her statement, Sen. Jackson expressed gratitude to her colleagues: “Thank you to my colleagues for electing me to serve as the Senate Democratic Whip. Making history as the first woman elected to this position is truly a privilege. This milestone is a testament to our progress as a legislative body, paving the way for many more women to step into leadership positions within the Senate. I am committed to working tirelessly to support our caucus and to representing the voices and needs of all of our constituents.”
This appointment marks Sen. Jackson's first term as Democratic Whip and her third term serving Georgia’s 41st Senate District, which includes parts of DeKalb County. She was elected in 2020 and is currently a member of several Senate Committees, including Appropriations, Children and Families, Public Safety, Reapportionment and Redistricting, Rules, and an Ex-Officio member of Ethics.
