Senator Sonya Halpern has been sworn in for her third term representing Georgia's 39th Senate District. The ceremony took place on Monday, with Judge Trent Brown officiating. Alongside her legislative duties, Sen. Halpern will continue serving as the Democratic Vice Chair, a position she was re-elected to by the Democratic Caucus.

"I am deeply honored to be sworn in for a third term to serve the incredible people of Georgia’s 39th Senate District and to continue my work as Vice Chair of the Senate Democratic Caucus," stated Sen. Halpern. "Representing such a vibrant and diverse community while advocating for meaningful change is a privilege. My focus remains on advancing legislation that strengthens education and expands our workforce and economic opportunities for all Georgians. I look forward to partnering with my colleagues and constituents to turn these priorities into progress."

First elected in 2020, Sen. Halpern represents parts of Fulton County within the 39th Senate District. Her committee assignments include Appropriations, Banking and Financial Institutions, Education and Youth, and Health and Human Services. She also holds roles as Vice Chair of the Senate Committee on Urban Affairs and Ex-Officio member of the Senate Committee on Public Safety.
