State Representative Matt Reeves of Duluth has been honored with the Champion of Philanthropic Freedom Award by the Philanthropy Roundtable. This recognition is for his contribution to Senate Bill 414, enacted in 2024. The bill aims to protect nonprofit donors from mandatory disclosure by government entities in Georgia, with certain exceptions such as crime, fraud, and political contributions.

Rep. Reeves expressed his thoughts on the legislation stating, "This legislation promotes charitable giving and abundant resources for Georgians in need by allowing charitable donors and recipient nonprofits, and not the government, from disclosing charitable donations." He added, "I am honored to be recognized by the Philanthropy Roundtable for working on this important legislation."

A photograph of Rep. Reeves with Megan Schmidt of Philanthropy Roundtable at the Georgia State Capitol is available.
