Sam Watson named chairman of Georgia Senate ethics committee

Lt. Governor Burt Jones has appointed Senator Sam Watson as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics. The committee is tasked with overseeing ethical matters related to the Senate, governmental bodies, public officials, and election and voting officials.

Senator Watson expressed his gratitude for the appointment, stating, "It is a true privilege to be appointed Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics." He emphasized his commitment to accountability and integrity in state institutions during his tenure as chairman.

In addition to this role, Senator Watson will serve on several other committees. These include Appropriations, Economic Development and Tourism, and State and Local Government Operations. He will also hold an Ex-Officio position on the Agriculture and Consumer Affairs and Natural Resources and Environment committees.

Senator Watson represents Georgia's 11th Senate District, which covers Brooks, Colquitt, Cook, Decatur, Grady, Seminole, and Thomas counties.
