The Georgia House of Representatives' Committee on Assignments has appointed State Representative Steve Tarvin as the Chairman of the House Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight Committee. Rep. Tarvin, who represents Chickamauga, expressed his gratitude for the appointment.

"I am very honored to have the opportunity to serve the fine people of Georgia as chair of this committee," said Rep. Tarvin. "We of the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight Committee will work to ensure our great state continues to maintain one of lowest costs of state government per capita in the nation for our citizens."

The House Committee on Assignments, led by House Speaker Jon Burns from Newington, is responsible for assigning members to various committees within the Georgia House of Representatives.

The Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight Committee's role includes conducting hearings to oversee spending programs outlined in the state's budget.
