The Georgia House of Representatives has appointed State Representative Jordan Ridley as the Vice Chairman of the House Code Revision Committee. Rep. Ridley, who represents Woodstock, will also serve as Secretary of the House Energy, Utilities and Telecommunications Committee.

Expressing his enthusiasm for his new role, Rep. Ridley stated, "I am honored to serve as Vice Chair of the House Code Revision Committee and ready to get started on legislation that will benefit and improve Georgia’s code." He emphasized the importance of updating Georgia's legal framework to align with contemporary realities while maintaining clarity and effectiveness in state laws.

The House Committee on Assignments, led by House Speaker Jon Burns from Newington, is responsible for determining committee assignments within the Georgia House of Representatives.

The primary function of the House Code Revision Committee is to make technical and grammatical updates to Georgia's statutes. The committee aims to modernize laws by correcting errors or omissions and repealing outdated sections that have been deemed unconstitutional or have been superseded by newer legislation.
