State Representative Gabriel Sanchez of Smyrna has officially begun his term in the Georgia House of Representatives. Sworn into office on January 13, 2025, Sanchez starts his first legislative session for the 2025-2026 period.
“It is an honor to represent the people of House District 42,” said Rep. Sanchez. “I am looking forward to serving our working-class communities and fighting for affordable housing, comprehensive healthcare, and a living wage for ALL Georgians.”
In addition to taking office, Rep. Sanchez has been appointed to several key committees by the Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments. His assignments include positions on the Budget and Fiscal Affairs Oversight, Governmental Affairs, and Interstate Cooperation committees.
The House Committee on Assignments is responsible for determining committee placements for all members of the Georgia House. This committee is chaired by House Speaker Jon Burns from Newington.
