The Georgia House of Representatives' Committee on Assignments has announced the reappointment of State Representative Rob Leverett as Chairman of the House Reapportionment and Redistricting Committee. In addition, he has been appointed Vice Chair of the House Rules Committee.
"I am so appreciative and gratified to have been honored with these appointments," said Rep. Leverett. "I want to thank Speaker Jon Burns and the Committee on Assignments for this great honor. It is a privilege to serve in the Georgia House of Representatives. I am confident that these appointments will help me better serve the communities that I am honored to represent."
The House Committee on Assignments, led by House Speaker Jon Burns, is responsible for assigning members to various committees within the Georgia House of Representatives.
The Reapportionment and Redistricting Committee's role involves drawing boundaries for Georgia’s State House, State Senate, and U.S. House districts using population data from the most recent U.S. Census.
Meanwhile, the House Rules Committee manages legislative flow from committee passage and decides which bills are debated and voted on in the House.
