The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced scheduled lane closures as part of the ongoing I-285/I-20 West Interchange Project. These closures will affect traffic flow on specific dates and locations over the upcoming week.
From Monday, April 7, through Friday, April 11, nighttime lane and shoulder closures will take place, specifically a single right-lane and right-shoulder closure on I-20 westbound from the Linkwood Road overpass, mile marker 51.3, to the Fairburn Road overpass, mile marker 50.6. Additionally, from Wednesday, April 9, through Friday, April 11, alternating single left and right lanes, as well as shoulder closures on I-285 southbound from the Collier Drive underpass, mile marker 10, to State Route 139/Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, mile marker 9, are planned. Single, left-lane, and left-shoulder closure will occur on I-285 northbound from the Boulder Park Drive overpass, mile marker 9, to the I-20 Interchange, mile marker 9.8.
GDOT advises, "Exact time may change due to weather conditions. There may be intermittent traffic pacing and lane and ramp closures that occur within the work zone in addition to this notice." Motorists are instructed to expect delays and proceed with caution, reducing their speed and remaining alert to the presence of workers.
