The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) has announced a series of lane closures for the Transform 285/400 project, affecting both I-285 and SR 400. The closures are scheduled to occur from February 24 through March 3, 2025, contingent on weather conditions.
"Weather permitting, Georgia Department of Transportation contractors will close lanes on I-285 eastbound and westbound and SR 400 northbound and southbound for punch list activities," GDOT stated. These activities may result in travel delays, reduced speeds, and detours.
The overnight closures will take place between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m., beginning with Peachtree Dunwoody Road at I-285 on February 24. Motorists traveling from Roswell Road to I-285 eastbound should use an alternative route via I-285 westbound and Exit 24 Riverside Drive.
On February 26, Glenridge Drive will see one right lane closed northbound and southbound at I-285. Abernathy Road will be fully closed with specific detour routes provided for motorists traveling in both directions as well as those using SR 400.
Further closures include additional dates with similar restrictions on Glenridge Drive, including another full closure of Abernathy Road on February 27. Detours are outlined for drivers needing access to Glenridge Connector from SR 400 southbound.
Motorists are advised that construction schedules may change due to weather or other factors. "Exact construction dates may change due to weather or other factors," GDOT cautioned. Drivers should reduce speed in work zones and stay alert for workers.
