City of Norcross issued the following announcement on October 8.
The city is now accepting applications for the Tree Preservation Board, Historic Preservation Commission, Architectural Review Board and Sustainable Norcross Commission.
The Tree Preservation Board is responsible for the preservation of trees and conservation of tree canopy cover within the city. They meet bi-monthly on the second Wednesday of the month at 10:00 a.m. We are seeking professional expertise in arboriculture or horticulture or land development/construction to fill this vacancy. There is one position available.
The Historic Preservation Commission is responsible for the designation, protection, preservation and rehabilitation of historic properties and historic districts in Norcross. They meet quarterly on the fourth Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. There are three positions available.
The Architectural Review Board is responsible for reviewing development proposals citywide. They meet on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. and have one position available.
The Sustainable Norcross Commission is responsible for educating citizens and advising the city regarding sustainability and environmental matters. This includes programs such as the Norcross Community Market and Bike/Ped Community. They meet the second Wednesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. and have one position available.
