The Georgia House of Representatives' Committee on Assignments has appointed State Representative Victor Anderson as the Chairman of the House Governmental Affairs Committee. Rep. Anderson, who represents Cornelia, expressed his gratitude for the appointment.
“It’s an honor to be named chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee,” said Rep. Anderson. “I’m grateful for the confidence of Speaker Burns and the Committee on Assignments for allowing me to serve in this capacity for the great people of Georgia. Having previously served as a dedicated member of this important committee, I am eager to begin our work this term on legislation that improves and updates local and state governments.”
The House Committee on Assignments is led by House Speaker Jon Burns from Newington. This committee is responsible for making all committee assignments within the Georgia House of Representatives.
The House Governmental Affairs Committee is tasked with overseeing legislation related to the operations and management of state, county, and municipal governments. It also handles matters concerning state election law.
