On January 13th, the 2025 Legislative Session began with Sen. Matt Brass being sworn in as the Senator for Georgia’s 6th District, previously known as the 28th District. Sen. Brass expressed enthusiasm about representing Carroll County again and continuing his service to constituents in Coweta and Heard Counties.

The week saw significant developments, including James “Jack” Tripp taking office as the new Secretary of the Senate. Governor Brian P. Kemp delivered his annual "State of the State" address, highlighting topics such as hurricane relief, economic growth, tort reform, and expanding healthcare access. Sen. Brass committed to working on these issues while focusing on his district's needs.

Sen. Brass holds the position of Chairman of the Senate Committee on Rules and expressed gratitude for Lt. Governor Burt Jones' trust in his leadership. He will also serve as Secretary of the Senate Committee on Children and Families and participate in several other committees, including Administrative Affairs, Natural Resources and Environment, and Regulated Industries and Utilities.

Reflecting on his tenure as a State Senator, Sen. Brass noted that while personnel may change over time, his dedication to serving Georgia's residents remains strong.

He praised young constituents involved in the Page Program for their interest in state government and encouraged those aged 12-18 to consider participating this session.

Sen. Brass invited constituents to contact his office with any concerns or ideas they might have.
