The Georgia Senate has initiated the 2025 Legislative Session with a series of actions, including voting on the Senate calendar, holding elections, and establishing operational rules. The session also saw the formation of Senate committees to guide legislative activities over the next two years.

Senator Frank Ginn welcomed new member Sen. Drew Echols from Alto, who joins the Republican caucus following his wife, former Sen. Shelly Echols' service in the previous biennium. Senator Ginn expressed confidence in Sen. Drew Echols' contributions to their team.

Governor Brian Kemp's initiatives have set a strong foundation for this session, focusing on increasing funding for school safety, enhancing workforce skills, aiding families affected by Hurricane Helene, and ensuring accessible healthcare across Georgia. These measures aim to secure Georgia's economic future by expanding opportunities in high-demand careers.

Senator Ginn co-sponsored "Ricky and Alyssa’s Law," or Senate Bill 17, which aims to enhance school safety through mobile panic alert systems for real-time coordination during emergencies. He also introduced Senate Bill 12 to reform open records laws in Georgia.

During Governor Kemp's "State of the State" address, he emphasized tort reform—a cause supported by Senator Ginn—to tackle rising insurance premiums and litigation costs that burden businesses. Recovery efforts for communities impacted by Hurricane Helene are also prioritized, with $100 million allocated initially for rebuilding efforts.

Committee assignments were announced with Senator Ginn serving as Vice Chair of Economic Development and Tourism and Metro Atlanta Rapid Transit Overview Committees. He will also serve on various other committees related to natural resources, regulated industries, appropriations, transportation, and rules.

Senator Ginn invited students aged 12-18 to participate as a Senate Page at the State Capitol. Interested students can apply via email.

Senator Frank Ginn represents Georgia's 47th Senate District and remains available for legislative matters through his office contact details provided.
